Kim was our first born. We were delighted with her and loved her so much but being young first time parents we made lots of mistakes. And being the first child she bore the brunt of most of those. In spite of that she turned out to be a beautiful, smart and independent creature. This painting was done from a photo that was taken when she was about 15 and was trying so hard to learn to fly on her own – hence the title, “Emerging Butterfly”
